Bosch Neff Siemens Dishwasher soap dispencer not working

Bosch, Neff and Siemens Dishwashers soap tablet door doesn’t release, so my dishes are not getting cleaned.

Simple cure, Just pop tablet in cutlery basket.
(typically the tablets do not dissolve til water gets hot.)

Failing that 2 repairs are possible
1, replace whole mech approx £48
2, replace door and trigger approx £20

Engineers time/labour from BOSCH £85ish from Appliance repairman £58 for unlimited labour.

first check the filter at bottom of machine normally hidden with a trap door, be carefull to empty water first.

they all have a common denominator, it is the element(whether fan element grill or other oven element) that has either failed or blown.

Simple resolution is to replace the element in most circumstances.

A trained engineer will be able to do an insulation/ safety check to find out which element has blown.

How I choose a new washing machine!

With over 50 brands and a 1000 models! Which washing machine should you choose?

Well, my choice would be the lowest spin speed for 3 reasons!

1. Less wear and tear on bearings.

2. Less Power consumption, so less wear on motor.

3. Less wear on clothes!.

Next, I would choose one with the least amount of functions for 2 reasons!

1. Less likely to go wrong because of sensors!

2. Less expensive to buy.

This is my criteria based on 10 years experience dealing with washing machine repairs and sales.
generally people use just 2 wash cycles possibly 3. but buy washing machines with 18 or so settings!

What can I do, my washing machine smells really bad?

Quite simply get yourself some white vinegar 1 1/2 Litres and turn machine on to hottest wash with out rinse, so 60 or higher.
Turn machine on and wait for machine to start, then pour vinegar carefully through detergent draw.

let machine continue cycle. hopefully bad smells should be gone.

Further advice: if using liquid detergent this is normally the problem as well as using low temp washes and closing the door after washing…

My washing machine won’t drain HELP! SOS!

Quite a common problem, we get at least 10 calls a day for this…

First things to check. if you have a bosch, Neff, siemens Zanussi, AEG, indesit, whirlpool and some hotpoint.

At the front of your machine at the bottom, there is a plastic kick strip. You should be able to locate the filter there.
some quality machines have an extra little hose which allows you to drain out excess water before opening
filter.(some machines have the filter inside and will need an engineer to clear them)

Once filter is open check for debris and blockages and make sure impellor is free to rotate. The impellor is a permanant magnet, so
will not rotate freely, it will move, but as you rotate it, it will jump in and out of the magnetic field.

When putting all back together, it is common for the seal not to seal properly and can leak. You can stop this by placing the filter into a sink and pouring boiling water over the rubber seal, hopefully it will reform! Warning!! take care not to scald yourself.

WARNING: water will flood floor if not emptied first! So cup out from drum as much as possible!

These machines are all fitted with an out of balance switch.

If you wash one heavy item the machine will trip and only spin at a very low speed.

To rectify. Turn Machine off and leave off for a few hours. the machine will reset it’s self.

Please take out item and don’t rewash one heavy item on it’s own or fault will reoccur.

The Electrolux Group Along with the Robert Bosch Group(bosch,neff,siemens,Gagenau) are among the only Ovens and cookers I like sorry Meloni group, your appliances have gone down hill in recent years!

Any way common faults with electrolux cooking appliances
1, fan Element the oven will blow cold air. remedy replace element £11-£35 (we charge £78 inclusive of 12 months gurantee)
2, oven will trip out after 10-20mins then automatically come back on 30mins after that. this is a simple very common fault and took me 30mins to find first time. it’s called a thermal limitor. remedy: find a little bullet style plastic cased blue thing with 4 wires coming out of it 2 long white and 2 shortish blue it will be in the centre of the machine at the top of the oven. You just need to remove the cover that protects all the switches( you have to take the machine out of it’s enclosure to be able to access the top of the machine).Part typically costs about £35. Appliance repairman will change and give 12 months warrenty for £78 inclusive parts and labour.

Warning Always disconnect an electrical appliance from mains electric before trying to diagnose or repair and always wear suitable protective clothing. If you are unsure always better to call a trained professional for repairs.

Hoover Washer Dryer Common Problem with not drying

Hoover washer dryers were not too bad at one time. and they suffered with 2 problems that can be easily rectified.
1, they dont empty. just replace the pump.
2, they don’t dry , clothes, come out damp. clean out lint in pressure chamber at rear of the machine. then you will need to replace stat on top of machine or re-set it.

this normally happens between 5 – 7 years but can happen sooner depending on usage.
